Helping Families Create Rooms They Love

Choosing children’s furniture involves more than selecting a style. Parents and grandparents also need to consider room size, changing storage needs, furniture placement, and how each piece may continue to serve the child over time.

Customer experiences offer a helpful look at the service behind the furniture, from comparing options and coordinating finishes to arranging delivery. Since 1999, Heirloom Amish Furniture has focused on building personal relationships and helping families choose furniture they can feel confident bringing home.

I appreciated how honest the salesperson was about what would and wouldn’t fit inside my room dimensions. Instead of pushing larger furniture, he recommended a smaller TV stand that actually worked better for the space. That kind of advice is pretty rare these days.
Christine A.
Highly recommended furniture shop for stylish and durable home furniture. I bought a sofa set and coffee table, and the craftsmanship is excellent. Staff were very helpful and the delivery process was smooth and hassle-free.
Response from the owner:Thank you for the awesome review! We’re so glad you’re loving your new sofa set and coffee table—those pieces are built to last and meant to be enjoyed for years to come. It means a lot to hear our team made the process smooth and easy. We appreciate your support and look forward to seeing you again at the showroom!
Wayne M.
We purchased four large rockers for our backyard gazebo about 2.5 years ago, custom colors. They are INCREDIBLY comfortable and we spend hours sitting out there. Friends say the same. Plus, they look - and operate - as good as they did the day they were delivered. The only "maintenance" they require is an occasional cleaning. No rust, no worn parts, no rub marks, nothing. We love them so much we just ordered and had delivered a custom conversation/cocktail table in the same colors. You will pay a bit more for this quality stuff than you would if you were to buy from some big box store, but it's so worth it. We haven't yet bought our last piece from Heirloom Amish Furniture!
Response from the owner:Thank you so much for sharing this! We’re truly grateful you chose Heirloom Amish Furniture for your outdoor space, and it means the world to hear that your rockers are still serving you as comfortably and beautifully as day one. Our builders pour a ton of care into every piece, and reviews like yours remind us why we do what we do. We love that your gazebo has become a spot for long relaxing gatherings with family & friends — that’s exactly what this furniture is made for. And we’re excited that the new custom conversation table ties everything together in your colors. You’ve got an awesome setup going with a beautiful view! Thank you again for trusting us and coming back for more. We’ll be here whenever you’re ready for the next piece! — The Heirloom Amish Furniture Family
Mark H.
Amish Heirloom has great quality furniture along with a variety of wonderful food products in their Winter Garden store.
Dennis L.
Love the new furniture we purchased. So glad we got it from them. It was a little bit more than buying from a box store, however the quality is so superior. We are expecting it to last 5x longer than box store furniture. When considering that this furniture is such a great deal. P.S. the honey is excellent also
Response from the owner:Thank you so much for your 5-star review! We truly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience.
Kevin L.
An impressive collection of high quality customizable furniture and collectibles. And really delicious pickles. I'd make the trip to Winter Garden for a jar of their pickles again, in a heartbeat. Looking at ordering from custom-made patio furniture as well as home decor.
Response from the owner:Hello Kevin, Thank you so much for the kind words and for taking the time to leave us such a thoughtful review! We’re so glad you enjoyed our selection at Heirloom Amish Furniture, and we love that the pickles made a memorable impression — they're definitely a hidden gem! We’d be thrilled to help you with your custom patio furniture and home decor when you're ready. It truly means a lot to us that you'd make the trip back to Winter Garden just for the pickles. We look forward to seeing you again soon!
Larry R.
This team does an amazing job! Quality work on all Amish furniture, staff is friendly and it's hard to walk in and not buy something off the shelf!
Anthony G.
Beautiful patio furniture. Everyone we dealt with was professional, helpful and courteous. Would buy from them again.
Ray A.
Great selection of Out Door Furniture and everything Amish in the wood furniture department. 🤙
Response from the owner:We thank you for your review and your repeat business! We're looking forward to delivering your Amish made kitchen cabinets next week and can't wait to get them installed for you!!
Carl F.
We needed to replace rotting wood picnic tables and benches in our community park. We went with Heirloom Amish Furniture in Winter Garden.....the furniture looks great!! We also replaced our rotting wooden street sign posts with custom recycled plastic posts with embedded rebar. Looks like painted wood and will last forever! Thank you John!!
Lens T.
You can tell right away the mean quality. Great options and ideas in this store. Makes you want to get new furniture…until you see the prices 😅. But I feel in this case, you pay for what you are getting.
Hayden R.
The "problem" with Heirloom Amish Furniture is that if you make the "mistake" of entering the store and sitting on ANY piece of furniture (outdoor or indoor) you are going to end up placing an order. We ABSOLUTELY love everything we have purchased -- Dining Room Table and Chairs; Kitchen Island Bar Stools/Chairs; Patio Table and Chairs; Swivel/Glider Chairs; and set of Rockers. Best Decision we made...high quality, great choices, and simply really good guys.
Response from the owner:It was great working with you both, your house is beautiful! Thanks again for your business and thank you for your awesome review.
Keith T.
Frank and John are awesome! We use our gliding, swivel patio chairs every day! This is the most comfortable, well designed and durable furniture known to man! Best decision we’ve ever made! Thanks guys!
Response from the owner:Thank you, we hope you enjoy them!
Nancy B.
Very happy with my front porch furniture Great service. Nice people to do business with.
Obie D.
Love the shops Downtown and this is one we frequent often with the assortment of Amish treats like cheeses, jams, and home/ outdoor decor like lake life signs & puzzle frames but the star of the show for me as a boat house owner is the outdoor patio furniture which feels like it will outlast the home itself! From a sweet robust porch chair to full on pool deck bar, just very impressed. Thanks for being a gem in a treasure trove of great choices on the Main strip! - Obie Diaz (Satisfied Customer)
Response from the owner:Thank you Obie for your continued support and for shopping local with us. We look forward to providing you with the most current information and trends of our outdoor & indoor furniture every time you visit and glad you enjoy our assortment of all natural jams, jellies, pickled veggies, soaps and foods. We appreciate your kind words and cant wait to see you back soon!!!
Olivia V.
Great place to find beautiful furniture and pick up some snacks too! The people were all very friendly and easy to work with. John was very helpful and kind. We will definitely be back when we need more furniture.
Response from the owner:Thank You Olivia. We appreciate you shopping local and for supporting our small business. We look forward to seeing you again soon!!

A Comfortable Place to Grow

Find the Right Bed for Their Next Stage

A child’s sleeping space may need to change several times as they grow. Convertible cribs can adapt beyond the nursery, while child beds provide an approachable transition into a larger sleeping space. Bunk beds help shared rooms use vertical space efficiently, and coordinated bedroom collections make it easier to add storage and supporting pieces as needs change.

Convertible cribs are designed to adapt into one or more later bed configurations when used with the appropriate conversion components. This can allow one piece of furniture to remain useful beyond the nursery years.

Available conversion stages vary by model, so confirm what components are included and which must be purchased separately. Always follow the furniture maker’s current assembly instructions, mattress requirements, and age or configuration guidance.

Child beds provide a comfortable transition from a crib or toddler arrangement into a more traditional bedroom. Their familiar design can help the room feel more grown-up without requiring the scale of a larger adult bed.

Consider mattress size, bed height, available floor space, and whether safety rails are needed during the transition. A child bed can also be coordinated with a dresser, chest, or nightstand to create a complete room.

Bunk beds use vertical space to provide two or more sleeping areas within a shared footprint. They are useful in sibling rooms, guest spaces, vacation homes, and bedrooms where preserving open floor space is important.

Ceiling height, ladder access, guardrails, mattress thickness, and the age of each sleeper should all be considered. Follow all manufacturer instructions and current safety guidance when assembling and using a bunk bed.

Children’s bedroom collections bring the bed, dresser, chest, nightstand, and other supporting pieces together through shared design details. Starting with a collection can make it easier to furnish the room gradually while maintaining a connected appearance.

Families can choose the entire collection or select only the pieces the room currently needs. Additional storage can then be added as clothing, books, toys, and other belongings accumulate.

Explore Coordinated Children’s Furniture Collections

A coordinated children’s furniture collection makes it easier to match the bed, dresser, chest, nightstand, and other supporting pieces throughout the room. Begin with the furniture needed for the child’s current stage, then add storage or a larger bed as routines and needs change.

Purchasing from a collection does not require furnishing the entire room at once. Selecting only the most useful pieces can create a connected space while leaving room for the child’s personality, favorite colors, and changing interests.

A Place to Sit, Learn, and Create

Furniture sized for children can help them participate more comfortably in everyday activities. Youth chairs provide individual seating, while children’s tables create a dedicated surface for crafts, games, and learning. Rockers offer a familiar place for quiet moments, and high chairs bring younger children to the family table.

High Chairs

Wooden high chairs allow infants and younger children to join the family at the dining table. Their traditional appearance can coordinate naturally with solid wood dining furniture.

Confirm the chair’s intended age and size range, restraint system, tray configuration, and care instructions before use. Always follow the furniture maker’s current safety and assembly guidance.

Children’s Rockers

Children’s rockers bring the familiar comfort of a rocking chair to a child-friendly scale. They can create a cozy place for reading, relaxing, or sitting with a favorite toy.

Leave enough open space around the chair for the rocking motion. The chair should be selected according to the child’s size and used with appropriate supervision.

Create a Calmer, More Organized Room

Storage Designed for Growing Needs

Children’s rooms need storage that can keep up with changing clothing sizes, favorite toys, books, bedding, and daily routines. Dressers provide broad drawer storage and a useful top surface, while chests make better use of vertical space. Nightstands keep bedtime items nearby, and toy boxes provide open storage for larger playthings and quick cleanup.

Dressers provide wide drawer storage for clothing, blankets, diapers, and other everyday necessities. Their lower profile also creates a useful top surface for a lamp, changing accessories, baskets, books, or decorative items.

A dresser works best where the room has enough open wall width and clearance for the drawers. Select a size that provides useful storage without crowding the bed or limiting walkways.

Chests use vertical space to provide several stacked drawers within a narrower footprint. They are helpful in smaller bedrooms or rooms where most of the wider walls are already occupied.

The upper drawers may become less accessible to younger children, which can be useful for items an adult manages. As with other tall storage furniture, follow the manufacturer’s installation and anti-tip guidance.

Nightstands provide a convenient surface beside the bed for a lamp, books, water, tissues, and other bedtime essentials. Drawers or doors can also keep smaller belongings contained and out of sight.

Choose a nightstand height that works comfortably with the mattress and bed frame. In compact rooms, a narrow design can provide everyday function without using too much floor space.

Toy boxes provide open interior storage for blocks, stuffed animals, games, dress-up clothes, and other bulky playroom items. They can make cleanup easier by giving children one familiar place to return their belongings.

Interior size, lid design, ventilation, and hardware should be considered when selecting a toy box. Follow the furniture maker’s instructions and supervise use as appropriate for the child’s age.

Create a Play Space They Can Call Their Own

A thoughtfully arranged play space gives children room to explore while helping the rest of the home remain organized. Youth chairs provide individual seating, wooden toys encourage hands-on play, and outdoor chairs extend child-sized comfort to the porch, patio, or yard.

Youth Chairs

Youth chairs provide individual seating with proportions designed for smaller users. They can be placed at a children’s table, in a reading area, beside a bookshelf, or within a bedroom or playroom.

Wooden Toys

Wooden toys bring lasting materials and traditional character into a playroom. Available designs may support imaginative play, movement, coordination, or decorative display depending on the item.

Outdoor Children’s Furniture

Outdoor children’s chairs give younger family members seating suited to their size on a porch, patio, or in the yard. They can be grouped around a child-sized table or positioned near the family’s larger outdoor arrangement.

Choose the Color, Fabric, and Style You Love

Children’s furniture should work for the room as it is today while allowing for the changes that come with growing up. Thoughtful customization can help you coordinate the nursery with the rest of the home, create enough storage for a smaller bedroom, or build a collection that can be expanded over time.

Available options may include wood species, finish colors, hardware, bed sizes, storage configurations, and coordinating pieces. Choices vary by design and furniture maker, but the Heirloom Amish Furniture team can help you understand the possibilities for each collection.

  • Choose your wood species to bring the grain and natural character you prefer into the room.
  • Select your finish color to coordinate with flooring, trim, wall colors, and nearby furniture.
  • Plan for future stages with convertible furniture or coordinated pieces that can be added later.
  • Match storage to needs with the right combination of dressers, chests, nightstands, and toy boxes.
  • Coordinate beds and storage to create a room that feels connected without overcrowding it.
  • Select child-friendly proportions for tables, chairs, rockers, and other activity furniture.

Children’s Furniture FAQ’s

Children’s Furniture Questions Answered

Learn more about convertible cribs, bunk beds, storage, customization, and planning furniture for growing children before choosing pieces for their room.

A convertible crib is designed to change into one or more later bed configurations when used with the required components. Conversion options vary by model, and some rails or kits may need to be purchased separately. Confirm all available stages and required parts before ordering.

The timing depends on the child’s development and the crib or bed manufacturer’s instructions. Review the furniture’s current height, weight, and age guidance, and speak with an appropriate pediatric professional when you have questions about a child’s readiness.

Measure the ceiling height and available floor space, and review the ladder placement, guardrail configuration, mattress requirements, and age guidance. The upper bunk should only be used according to the furniture maker’s instructions and applicable safety recommendations.

Many pieces may offer choices for wood species, finish color, hardware, bed configuration, storage, and coordinating furniture. Available options vary by design and furniture maker, so the Heirloom team can help confirm what can be personalized.

Tall or drawer-based furniture can present a tip-over risk, particularly in children’s rooms. Follow the manufacturer’s current anchoring instructions and use the provided or recommended anti-tip hardware. Furniture should never be used as a climbing surface.

No. A collection can help create a coordinated room, but you can purchase only the crib, bed, dresser, nightstand, toy box, or other pieces you need. Additional matching furniture may be added later as the child’s storage and sleeping needs change.
